Visit the Tikal and Yaxha Archeological Sites, Rio Dulce, the Finca Paraiso Hotspring, Antigua, Lago Atitlan, Panajachel, San Juan Laguna, San Pedro, Volcan Pacaya, and more with Evolution35. Day 1: Arrival in Guatemala Arrive in Guatemala and fly from Guatemala to Flores. Upon arrival you will transfer from Flores to hotel. Day 2: Tikal and Yaxha Archeological Sites Visit the Tikal and Yaxha Archeological Sites. Enjoy a box breakfast and a lunch. Tikal, known for its numerous pyramids, reflects the influence of the Maya calendar, with twin pyramid complexes built every K’atun (20 years) starting as early as A.D. 672. Originally settled between 1000–350 B.C. during the Preclassic period, Tikal grew into a powerful city-state, becoming the largest in the region by A.D. 250. Day 3: Rio Dulce and the Finca Paraiso Hotspring Visit Rio Dulce and the Finca Paraiso Hotspring. The Dulce River, located in Guatemala's Izabal department, is part of a lake and river system popular among cruising sailboats. It begins where it flows out of Lake Izabal, offering scenic beauty and tranquility. Nearby, Finca Paraiso Hot Springs provides a unique natural retreat, with warm, cascading waters perfect for relaxation. Day 4: Antigua City Tour Visit Antigua and enjoy a city tour. Antigua, a small city in southern Guatemala, is known for its restored Spanish colonial buildings and baroque La Merced church. Surrounded by volcanoes, it was Guatemala’s colonial capital until a 1773 earthquake. The city is famous for its Semana Santa parades and rituals. Day 5: Lago Atitlan, Panajachel, San Juan Laguna, and San Pedro Day 5 begins with breakfast before exploring Lago Atitlán, a volcanic crater lake surrounded by Mayan villages and volcanoes. Visit Panajachel for its vibrant markets, San Juan La Laguna for Tz’utujil culture, and San Pedro La Laguna for its lively atmosphere and lake views. Day 6: Volcan Pacaya and Cacao Tour Day 6 of the Guatemala Travel Tour includes a visit to the active Volcan Pacaya, known for its frequent eruptions, with a hike to its summit at 2,552 meters. Afterward, enjoy a Cacao Tour, learning about the chocolate-making process. The day concludes with some free time to relax and explore. Day 7: Return to the USA Transfer to the airport.
